LESSON 3 – Doing the wrong thing
The following practices are considered wrong:
- Engaging in corrupt or dishonest business practices.
- Offer or accept gifts or hospitality if this could impair objective judgment, improperly influence a decision, or create a sense of obligation.
- Directly or indirectly use company property or funds for any unlawful, unethical, or improper purpose.
- Authorise, make, invite, or accept any bribe or improper benefit to obtain, retain or improve business or a business advantage.
- Make a facilitation payment.
- Permit anyone to offer or pay bribes or make facilitation payments on behalf of Akata.
- Offer or give anything of value to a public official (or their representative or family member) to include or reward them for acting improperly in their public responsibilities.
- Make any political contributions in cash or in-kind anywhere in the world.
